Manufactured from 1951, the ARMOR 8 camera was presented in 1955 as ‘the cheapest camera in the world’. It was sold that year for 15,870 fr. If we look at its design and construction, we can see that cost was the manufacturer's number one criterion. As well as being easy to use, it was light and compact. Produced until the end of SOMMOR's activity in 1961, it was undoubtedly the most popular and most produced model of the brand.
Numerous variants of this model were produced and distributed under different names, such as Armor Luxe, Armorette and Kerjean.
