The French 8 mm camera brand Carèna was designed by Jacques Broïdo, one of the two fathers of Pathé Webo (French patents nos. 585344 and 585960).

This mechanical 8 mm camera launched in 1956 has a grey granite finish with black leather trim and a large "Caréna 2" (and Gevaert) logo on the side. The body accepted a standard lens. The tubular Galileo viewfinder (non-retractable) was attached to the lid and had a rubber eyepiece.
Consistently favourable results contributed to the success of the Carèna 2 Géva 8 camera, which was justly appreciated by its many loyal users.
Its technical qualities include an interchangeable lens, a viewfinder tube with position-adjustable eyepiece, an extra-flat mechanism designed as a stopwatch, 4 speeds with a non-adjustable regulator and a shutter movement that guarantees incomparable image stability.
