Details

Antique Thoren excelda gramophone, made in Switzerland in the 30's of the 20th century and in good condition. This unique device is one of the most popular portable gramophones of the time. It is in working condition and can play gramophone records with a good sound.

The metal box which houses the mechanism and serves as a base for playing the records has an original crackle enamel, in two shades of brown. This is a very unique finish, which makes the gramophone a highly decorative item. The box retains the original leather handle, with the name EXCELDA in raised lettering, as well as an oval-shaped metal plate fixed with rivets. On the plate we can read the inscription Thorens - made in switzerland.

Thorens is a renowned manufacturer of high quality audio equipment. They are especially famous for the phonographs, gramophones and record players they have produced from the end of the 19th century to the present day.
