The Christen 8 was CHRISTEN's first camera. This simple and robust camera was launched in 1950 and remained their exclusive production until 1953. In the following years it was renamed Christen 51 and then Christen 52 (source: "50 ans de caméras françaises"), although this dominance was not reflected on the outside of the camera body. It was distinguished from the following model by its lateral shutter release lever.
